Confidence and the Law of Attraction

The underlying essence of the Law of attraction is that you attract what is the focus of your attention. “Like attracts like”

Negative thoughts reflect an expectation that bad things naturally flow to you and what ever comes to you comes through struggle.

Positive thoughts reflect an expectation that life naturally brings good, positive experiences and there is a flow of joy and happiness.

A way of exploring this in action is to look at others who have achieved the pinnacle of success, because it follows that to have created success, at least some of their thoughts must be filled with ideas that bring success.

So what do the following people have in common?

The CEO of a company.

A leading actor or performer.

A top sales man.

A champion sportsman.

What do they exude?

Confidence!

Confidence is the expectation of success!

The CEO has the conviction of his previous business experience that he can turn a company around and create profits.

An actor or performer gains confidence for a successful performance through experience, training and rehearsal.

A top sales performer gains confidence in his experience to successfully influence peoples buying decision.

A champion sportsman has confidence in his ability from training and experience to take the last and winning shot.

Confidence comes from the expectation that you are going to succeed.

Conversely pessimism and un-happiness are brought upon by the expectation of difficult outcomes and failure. It is the dreading of the consequence of not achieving your desires. It’s the sinking feeling of here we go again! The terrible feeling in our stomach, as your mind maps out all the calamities that are headed your way. If your expectation is that the things will be difficult, then it is most likely that this is what you will experience.

EXPECTATION is an indicator of the type of thoughts and beliefs we are holding. It can give you a window as to what the sum total of all your thoughts and beliefs are. You could call it the barometer of your life as it is an accurate predictor of what is to come in your life.

A great way to ensure that your expectations are always positive is to:

“EXPECT THE BEST!”

So a good technique to monitor and improve the type of thoughts you hold and therefore what you are giving focus, is to regularly during the day, ask yourself: “WHAT AM I EXPECTING?”

Are you expecting success or failure?

If the feelings you find with in yourself are tinged with fear and worry the ask:

“What if I were EXPECTING THE BEST?”

What things would happen in the best possible circumstance?

The perfect day at the office.

A big deal comes you way.

You take an overseas holiday.

You buy a new house.

You meet great new people.

You have a romantic dinner with your partner.

You get a new car.

Whatever would be the best possible outcome for you.

These thoughts will bring confidence as they bring the expectation of success and as we know, the Law of Attraction dictates, “like attracts like”, and so this can only improve what we receive in our life.

“EXPECT THE BEST” is powerful statement and thought. It makes sense that if we expect the best in everything we are giving our attention to, then, we cannot help to create our best possible life.

The Paradox of Wanting

For many people the Law of Attraction resonates as a valid way to attract what they desire in their lives. Unfortunately many struggle to effectively engage it and are disappointed with the lack of results.

Often the reason they are unable to gain traction with the Law of Attraction is the “Paradox of Wanting” This paradox exists because the basis of the Law of Attraction is that “like attracts like”. Therefore it follows that if your major focus is “wanting” of things or circumstances, then it is the experience of “wanting” that you will receive.

“I want more money.”

“I want a new car.”

“I want love.”

“I want great new clothes.”

“I want to travel,”

As “like attracts like” what you are going to experience is not the experience “having” your desires but the “wanting”. Therefore you will continue to be separated from you desires and you will continue the experience of “wanting”. This situation gives the appearance the Law of Attraction is not in play when actual fact it is bringing the focus of your thoughts. The experience of “wanting”.

This makes how you hold your thoughts and desires very important. If you hold a strong expectation of receiving your desires, then you cannot be separated from it by the paradox of wanting. So it is important to reframe the way we think of our desires. We can do this with intention.

“I intend to have more money.”

“I intend to have a new car.”

“I intend to have love.”

“I intend to have great new clothes.”

“I intend to have to travel.”

Statements made this way, eliminate any “wanting” or wishing”, as the focus is moved towards the completion of desires. Intention holds a positive expectation of receiving. It removes feelings of not having and lack. By holding our desires and dreams as pictures of completion, that is resonate with the feeling of already having it, you greatly increase the likelihood of receiving our desires.
